IB Tuition Singapore: Language Arts & Language and Literature

IB English Tuition Class for ACS Independent Students at Creative Campus Singapore The IB Language Arts curriculum is uniquely challenging — it demands critical analysis, ethical reasoning, and sophisticated engagement with texts across moral, social, political, and cultural dimensions. For IB students, this isn't just about passing an exam; it's about developing the intellectual depth that universities worldwide recognise and value.

At Creative Campus, our IB English tuition programme has been refined over the years to help students attain outstanding grades at the IB exam. We understand the IB philosophy: students must think independently, write persuasively, and engage with complex ideas from multiple perspectives. Our curriculum, designed by experienced IB English tutors in Singapore, runs up to 20% more rigorously than typical programmes, exposing students to advanced concepts early and building the analytical skills that lead to excellence.

With an impressive 74% distinction rate and 100% pass rate, our track record speaks to the quality of our approach. Whether you are looking for an IB tuition centre in Singapore for Language Arts or Language and Literature, Creative Campus is where outstanding results happen.

Note for Year 1 & 2 students: We recommend joining our Secondary English programmes, where we focus on building fundamental and foundational skills and techniques essential for IB success.

IBDP Year 6 Programme (for ACS Independent Students)

The IBDP Year 6 Programme provides students with written practice and regular feedback, which is often the missing link to getting a distinction in Language and Literature.

Our course promises a rigorous approach to the following core components, with guidance and feedback tailored to each student's individual needs:

Individual Oral (IO)

A 15-minute oral presentation connecting a literary and non-literary text to a global issue

Our programme introduces the tips and techniques that students should employ for their IO, along with guidance and oral practice.

Paper 1: Guided Textual Analysis

Analysing an unseen text (literary or non-literary) in a written commentary

Students will learn how to apply the structure, techniques and language to write a commentary across various text types. There will be ample written practice and personalised feedback to refine their analysis.

Paper 2: Comparative Essay

Writing an essay comparing two literary works studied

Perhaps the trickiest paper to master, our programme targets fixed literary texts, imparting the skills and techniques required for writing and structuring a comparative literature essay. There will be ample written practice across themes, and personalised feedback to refine their analysis.

IBDP Year 3 Programme (for ACS Independent Students)

The IBDP Year 3 Programme builds a strong foundation in Language Arts, equipping students with the analytical and writing skills they will need for the upper years.

Through consistent practice and targeted feedback, our course develops confidence across the following core components:

Paper 1: Guided Language Analysis

Analysing unseen poetry and prose passages in a written commentary

Students develop the ability to closely read and respond to unseen poetry and prose, building a structured approach to commentary writing through regular practice and individualised feedback.

Paper 2: Literary Essay Writing

Writing essays on set literary texts studied

Often regarded as the most demanding component, this module focuses on crafting well-structured essays on set literary texts. Students practise across a range of themes and topics and receive detailed feedback to sharpen their analyses.

Coursework Requirements

School-based written assignments throughout the year

Our programme provides the guidance and techniques that students should employ for their various Language Arts coursework needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

IB Tuition refers to specialised educational coaching tailored for students undergoing the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. In Singapore, IB tuition typically covers subjects like English Language and Literature, Language Arts, Mathematics, and the Sciences. At Creative Campus, our IB English tutors have, on average, over 25 years of experience and are well-versed in both the IBDP and IB Language Arts curricula.

IBDP Language and Literature is one of the English courses offered in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It focuses on developing students' critical analysis skills through the study of both literary and non-literary texts, including novels, poetry, drama, essays, and various media texts.

IB tuition rates in Singapore vary depending on the centre and class size. At Creative Campus, IB English tuition starts from $130 per 2-hour lesson, with small class sizes for personalised attention. Trial classes are also available upon request.

Because fixed literary texts differ between schools, we are unable to offer mixed classes at the Year 5 and Year 6 levels. However, for lower levels (Years 1-4), we can accommodate students from other IB schools as there are fewer set texts to cover. Feel free to WhatsApp or email us to discuss your specific needs.

Our IO preparation includes teaching essential tips and techniques for successful oral presentations. We provide guidance on connecting texts with global issues, and oral practice with personalised feedback to help students build confidence and refine their presentation and response skills.

At Creative Campus, our pricing is a testament to the premium quality and depth of our approach to IB tuition. With each of our IB teachers possessing, on average, 25 years of specialised experience, we provide a curriculum that's more than just about passing an exam.

Our expert educators are dedicated to ensuring students not only excel in IB but also acquire skills that benefit them beyond the classroom, in various facets of life. Our small class sizes allow for individualised attention, and our holistic approach ensures that learners thrive academically, while also excelling in critical thinking and creativity. We see it as an investment in a student's comprehensive growth and long-term success.
